Our Mission
The Macon County Animal Control has adopted a no-kill philosophy, and will make every effort to promote pet adoptions of healthy, non-aggressive animals by the general public and by approved animal rescue organizations.
Adoption Policy
We welcome both local and out of area adopters. Special arrangements may need to be made for out of area adopters so please call ahead to discuss. 615-388-8956.
We are open for adoptions Monday-Friday 9AM-3PM by appointment only.
Adopters are encouraged to bring their other dogs to meet any dog they are interested in adopting prior to adoption.
Adopters must be at least 18 years old and present a valid government issued photo ID.
Cash or check only.
Adoption Fee-$175
Adoption fees include:
Spay/Neuter
Up to date age appropriate vaccinations.
Heartworm Test
1 Month of Heartworm Preventative
1 Month of Flea/Tick Preventative
Animals that are already sterilized will go home with the adopter same day. Animals requiring sterilization surgery will remain at the shelter until their surgery appointment. Adopter will pick up their animal from the veterinarian after surgery.
