Rhea County Animal Shelter

Our mission is to be a passionate advocate for animals by finding quality forever homes, providing community education, promoting responsible animal ownership, and rehabilitating wildlife when possible. The Animal Shelter Alliance of Rhea is comprised of members, dedicated shelter staff, volunteers, a Board of Directors, and a growing network of rescue organization and foster homes. Our mission includes: 1. Diligently assisting law enforcement and the general public in the effort to end animal abuse. 2. Promoting compassionate and appropriate treatment of animals in Rhea County, as well as neighboring counties when requested by appropriate Law Enforcement officials. 3. Searching for quality homes for every healthy and treatable animal that comes into the shelter. 4. Encouraging the general public to bring animals to our open intake shelter. 5. Educating the general public in areas of animal care, especially the need for spaying/neutering of animals to prevent further overpopulation. 6. Expanding the knowledge of and protection of animals with which we share our lives and our world.
