We are the Maury County City of Columbia Animal Services Facility. We are a government facility serving the residents of the Maury County City of Columbia area.
We are greatly in need of volunteers to exercise and socialize our dogs. If you would like to volunteer, please call the shelter at 931-375-1402, email Laura at firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by any time that we are open. You just need to fill out a brief volunteer application and can then begin helping right away.

The adoption fee for a dog is $75 and the adoption fee for a cat is $65. The fee includes spay or neuter, rabies vaccination, 1st distemper vaccination, deworming, heartworm check (dogs), 1st parvo vaccination (dogs) and a kennel cough vaccination. The state requires that all animals adopted from the shelter be spayed or neutered within a certain amount of time, depending on the age of the animal. A $25 deposit is required by the State of Tennessee and is refunded when you provide proof that your new friend was spayed or neutered prior to the deadline given. Applications for each animal are processed on a first come, first serve basis. Once we notify you that your application has been approved, you have three days to complete the steps necessary to finalize the adoption. After three days, we will move on to the next applicant.
Overview of our adoption process:
Step 1. Complete an application for the animal you're interested in adopting.
Step 2. We will call your vet to confirm that any animals currently in your home are up-to-date on vaccinations. Applications that are received after 11:30a on Saturday generally cannot be fully processed and approved until the following Tuesday as most vet offices close by noon on Saturday and our facility is closed on Sunday and Monday. We will also do a landlord check at this time, if you rent, to make sure that your landlord doesn't have any pet restrictions or that the animal you're interested in complies with any restrictions they may have.
Step 3. Once your dog application has been approved, we require that you bring any dogs in your home for a meet and greet before we will finalize the adoption.
Step 4. After a successful meet and greet, we will collect the adoption fee and finalize the adoption. We will then schedule the animal for spay/neuter surgery, unless it's already altered. You can usually pick up your new family member the day after surgery, but we will discuss the timing with you when we finalize the application. Thank you for considering adopting from Maury County Animal Services! Please call 931-375-1402 with any questions or email Laura at email@example.com.
