Our Mission

Journey's Legacy is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating homeless and at-risk dogs in Southeast Tennessee. We are committed to a compassionate approach that includes: Comprehensive Dog Rescue and Care Program • Rescue and Rehabilitation: We save dogs from shelters and from being homeless, providing them with essential care and a safe environment. • Population Control: We spay and neuter every dog in our care to combat overpopulation. • Sanctuary for Special Needs: We provide lifelong sanctuary and adequate care for dogs who cannot be adopted due to age, medical conditions, or behavioral issues. • Finding Forever Homes: We use a thorough adoption process to place rescued dogs into permanent, loving homes.

Adoption Policy

At Journey’s Legacy Rescue, our goal is to match every dog with the perfect forever home. To ensure the best fit for both our dogs and adopters, we follow a structured adoption process: 1. Submit an Application The first step is to complete our adoption application. This helps us learn more about you, your household, and what you’re looking for in a companion. 2. Application Review Once your application is reviewed, our team will contact you if you are approved to move forward. 3. Meet & Greet If approved, we will help you set up a meet-and-greet with the dog you are interested in. This allows you to interact with the dog and make sure it feels like the right fit. 4. Finalize Adoption If the meet-and-greet goes well, you will choose a day to bring your new family member home. At that time, you will: Sign the adoption contract Pay the adoption fee. Transport fee of up to $200 applies to areas if more than a 2-hour drive dependent on the distance. From there, your new best friend will officially become part of your family! ???
