Forgotten Paws of the South
Our Mission
Forgotten Paws of the South is a 501(c)3 Nonprofit based out of Berkeley County in South Carolina. Our mission is to keep pets safe at home and out of shelters. We’re dedicated to providing resources and support to pet owners, promoting animal welfare, and advocating for responsible pet ownership. Check out some of the ways that we accomplish this by!
Adoption Policy
We have an initial adoption application that all potential adopters are asked to fill out. Our team then reviews it and calls the references listed. If we like what we see and we think it's a good fit then we will call the adopter and speak with them on the phone. Once that clears we take the pet to meet them and if that goes well, we have them fill out another application in person and collect the adoption fee.
We then do a 1 week, 1 month, 30 month, 6 month, and 1 year follow up to make sure everything is going well. The adopters are always welcome to reach back out to us should they need something else in the meantime.
