Our Mission
Soaring Spirits Sanctuary is dedicated to providing a safe, judgment-free haven for parrots in need, with a focus on rescue, rehabilitation, lifelong welfare, education, and mental health advocacy. We provide compassionate, individualized care to neglected, abused, abandoned, medically complex, and special-needs parrots while educating the community and helping people seek assistance without fear of judgment.
Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is designed to prioritize the lifelong wellbeing, safety, and emotional needs of our parrots. Every bird has a different history, personality, level of socialization, medical needs, behavioral challenges, and ideal home environment. Because of this, we do not believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach to adoption. When appropriate, we strongly prefer a foster-to-adopt arrangement. This gives the bird and potential adopter time to adjust to one another in a home environment and allows us to determine whether the placement is genuinely appropriate before finalizing the adoption. We do not place birds on hold and do not accept deposits to reserve a particular bird. We expect adopters to understand the long-term financial, emotional, medical, and lifestyle commitment involved in caring for a parrot. We want adopters to be prepared not only for the fun and rewarding parts of parrot ownership, but also for hormonal behavior, behavioral challenges, medical expenses, diets
