Second Chance Bird Rescue was founded in May 2012 by Donna Costley with one simple but powerful goal: to provide a loving rescue and sanctuary for homeless, unwanted, & special-needs parrots. Every bird in our care receives high-quality nutrition, compassionate daily care, & individualized attention. While our hope is for successful rehoming, we believe healing comes first. Second Chance is not a shelter—it is a home where relinquished parrots can decompress, socialize, & rebuild trust at their own pace, for some this is their forever home. Living as part of a flock plays a vital role in each bird’s journey. Through interaction with other parrots and caregivers, they learn from one another, rediscover joy, & regain their natural curiosity & playfulness. This gentle, low-stress environment helps prepare them for a smoother transition into loving forever homes.
