Our Mission
Yukon Animal Control is responsible for the enforcement of Yukon Municipal Ordinances and State laws relating to domestic animals within the Yukon city limits. Animal Control is responsible for the humane care of all animals lawfully brought to the Yukon Animal Shelter.
Adoption Policy
Adopters have the option of submitting an application online or calling for an appointment. We discuss what type of animal the adopter is looking for a determine if any of our available animals meet they needs and wants in an animal. The adopter is required to come to the shelter to meet with the dog/cat and are encouraged to bring other household members or dogs/cats already in the home so they can get an initial reaction to the new animal. If staff have any concerns about the match of adopter and animal we will discreetly discuss it and determine if there is a good match or if we need to move on to another animal of deny an application/adopter. Adopters must have a valid Identification card (state or military) and a valid physical address.
