Our Mission
The Humane Society of Cherokee County [HSCC] focuses on saving the lives of animals, reducing pet overpopulation, abuse, and neglect. HSCC is an all-volunteer 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping abused and abandoned animals in Cherokee County.
There are two shelter buildings The first one – HERRIN – is dedicated to our loving co-volunteer and friend Doris Herrin who purchased the property and paid for the first building. You are always in our hearts Doris. The second building – GRAVITT – is dedicated to Evelyn Gravitt who dedicated her life to the rescue of abandoned and abused animals.
Adoption Policy
Hi if you are interested in this pet, please go to our website to fill out an adoption application. This helps us help you choose the right pet for your family and lifestyle. There is no obligation to adopt if you fill out an application. www.humanecherokeecounty.org
Adoptions rates start at $80.00 for dogs, and start at $60.00 for cats. Our adoption fee includes spay or neuter, vaccinations, worming, flea/tick prevention and a micropchip.
