Our Mission
Our mission is to support public safety and animal welfare by providing humane care for stray and surrendered animals, reuniting lost pets with their owners, and if necessary, facilitating rescue or adoption into responsible homes. We value partnerships with veterinarians, rescue organizations, volunteers, and community members to improve outcomes for animals.
Adoption Policy
Individuals seeking to adopt an animal must be at least 18 years of age, provide valid identification, demonstrate the ability to provide proper care, shelter, food, and veterinary services, and comply with local animal ownership laws and ordinances. The shelter reserves the right to deny adoption applications if it is determined that the placement would not be in the best interest of the animal or the community. The process includes discussion with shelter staff and review and approval by the ACO.
Dogs and cats adopted from the shelter must be spayed or neutered prior to adoption whenever possible. If sterilization cannot occur before adoption, adopters must sign an agreement to complete the procedure.
