Our Mission
At Hickory Hounds Haven, our mission is to provide exceptional care to neonates and medically vulnerable pets, with a special focus on brachycephalic and other high-needs breeds. We work closely with shelters, rural communities, and veterinarians to ensure every animal receives the individualized treatment, rehabilitation, and support needed to thrive in a permanent, loving home.
Adoption Policy
Our adoption policies are designed to ensure every pet is placed in a safe, loving, and permanent home. We require potential adopters to complete an application, provide references, and participate in a conversation with our team to assess fit and readiness. Additionally, all dogs in the adopter’s home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on core vaccinations, unless medically exempted by a veterinarian. We prioritize adopters who are committed to the specific needs of the breed or age of the dog and provide post-adoption support to help ensure a smooth transition. Our goal is to create thoughtful, lifelong matches between our pets and their families.
