Our Mission
Forever Home Foster House is a volunteer-based organization that gives animals in need of a home with a safe place to land as they seek loving permanent placement. Forever Home seeks to rewrite the stories of unwanted and abandoned animals in the Hudson Valley by providing the medical care, comfort, patience, and consistency they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
Forever Home knows that making the world a better place for animals and the people who love them starts in your backyard. Part of caring about animals means caring about the humans who love them. We are proud to work alongside another local rescue to offer a free pet food pantry to help prevent surrender and keep animals in homes. We also dedicate ourselves to engaging in TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) for stray community cats and offer educational training and a humane trap-lending program to community members.
Adoption Policy
We believe in non-judgmental conversation with potential adopters. We offer a straightforward application and welcome conversation about what each person is specifically looking for in a companion animal. We tend to honor approved applications on a first-come, first-serve basis, but always prioritize the individual personalities and needs of the animals in our care, which is why we make clear that applying for a specific animal in our care does not guarantee you will be placed with that specific animal.
