Our Mission
Happily Ever After Rescue, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is dedicated to protecting and advocating for companion animals in need. Our mission is to foster a humane community where compassion and respect for animals are paramount, and to strengthen the bond between humans and animals through kindness and care. We are committed to ensuring that no animal endures the pain and suffering of abandonment and neglect. Adoption Policy
We ensure that every dog is placed in a safe, loving, and suitable home by conducting a thorough adoption process.
1. Application Submission:
- Prospective adopters complete and submit an adoption application form, providing detailed information about themselves, their home, and their experience with pets.
2. References:
- We require three references from each applicant. These references should ideally include at least one non-family member who can vouch for the applicant's ability to care for a pet.
- Our team contacts each reference to discuss the applicant's suitability as a pet owner.
3. Veterinary Check:
- We conduct a veterinary check to ensure that any current or past pets of the applicant have been well cared for, including up-to-date vaccinations and regular health checks.
- This helps us assess the applicant's commitment to responsible pet ownership.
4. Home Visit:
- A home visit is scheduled to evaluate the living conditions and environment where the dog will be placed.
- Our team checks for safety, space, and suitability, ensuring that the home is pet-friendly and conducive to the dog's well-being.
5. Family Interview:
- We conduct a family interview to get to know the prospective adopters better.
- This interview helps us understand their lifestyle, expectations, and readiness to integrate a new dog into their family.
- All household members are encouraged to participate to ensure everyone is on board with the adoption.
6. Approval and Matching:
- Once all steps are successfully completed and the applicant is approved, we work to match them with a dog that fits their lifestyle and preferences.
- We consider the dog's temperament, needs, and compatibility with the adopter's home environment.
7. Adoption Finalization:
- Approved adopters sign an adoption agreement outlining the responsibilities and commitments involved in adopting the dog.
