Our Mission
Little Paws of Bulgaria is located in New York and is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless dogs and cats in Bulgaria. Our mission is to reduce the suffering of cats and dogs in Bulgaria and reduce homelessness through responsible prevention efforts, access to veterinary care, and foster-based support. We work closely with volunteers, veterinarians, and caregivers in Bulgaria and USA to ensure our rescued animals receive appropriate medical attention, stability in foster care, and forever homes in Europe and in USA.
Animals are placed in foster homes, where they can recover, socialize, and be thoughtfully prepared for adoption. We are committed to placing each pet into a safe, permanent, and responsible home, whether locally or internationally, based on what is in the best interest of the animal. Through transparency, education, and collaboration, Little Paws of Bulgaria strives to create lasting change for animals and the community they live in.
Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is designed to ensure the best possible match between each animal and their future family. Potential adopters complete an application and participate in a conversation to discuss lifestyle, expectations, and the needs of the animal. We prioritize the safety and long-term well-being of our pets and place them only into responsible, permanent homes.
Adoptions include an adoption agreement outlining care requirements, sterilization (when applicable), and a commitment to lifelong guardianship. We provide full transparency regarding medical history and behavior, offer guidance during the transition period, and remain available for post-adoption support to help ensure a successful and lasting placement.
