O.H.C.A.A.T. (One Homeless Cat At A Time)

Our Mission

Our organization originally focused primarily on cats/kittens however, we are now regularly fostering and adopting dogs and puppies too.

We have had several good years, thanks to all who have fostered, volunteered, adopted, donated or contributed in any way!  We absolutely couldn't do it without YOUR Help!!

As of January 1, 2017, we are our own organization and no longer under the 501c3 umbrella of a parent organization.  With that huge change comes some uncertainty but we will carry on!  Our greatest need right now is more Foster homes!!!  If you have a spare room, a little spare time and some love to share, we would love to talk to you about fostering!  Please call Amy @ 505-860-0228  And, we always need funds to cover vet care and, having enough to cover food & litter for foster homes would really be huge for us!  Some of our current fosters are cutting back on the number they can foster and some are no longer fostering

Adoption Policy

We have an application for potential adopters that helps us to make a good match of personalities and situations.  Application can be downloaded at

AND, we have a modest adoption fee which helps us to recover a small portion of the veterinary care they receive while in our care.

We do not have a physical facility so all animals are fostered in our homes, with our own families and fur-families.  We show our available cats & dogs in Petco, in Farmington, NM, most Saturdays 1200 to 300 pm.  Our available cats and kittens also now populate the Petco store cages everyday, although most will continue to go back to their foster homes at night to live as "normal" housecats!
