Our Mission
Founded in 2005, the North Jersey Guinea Pig and Hamster Rescue, Inc. was created to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home unwanted guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, pet rats, mice and other pocket pets. We are a "no kill" shelter that seeks to place these animals in loving homes, no matter how long it takes. We are located in Budd Lake, NJ.

GOING ON VACATION? We offer boarding services. For $10 a day per cage, we provide unlimited timothy hay/pellets, a bowl of fresh greens/veggies twice daily, daily cage cleaning and a nail trim if needed.
As of June 10, 2026, WE ARE ACCEPTING female guinea pigs and both genders of hamsters, gerbils and mice of any age. Male guinea pigs can be added to our waiting list. Please send an email to: carlahcpa@aol.com

Adoption Policy
Just fill out an adoption application. As soon as I receive it, we can set up a convenient time for you and your family to come meet/adopt the animal(s) of your choice.
We ask $35 for a single piggie, $55 for a pair, $15 for a hamster and $20 for a pair of gerbils/dwarf hamsters
