Our Mission

Purring Angels (PA) (www.purringangels.com) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce feline overpopulation in and around Pamlico and Craven Counties by:

-helping residents access affordable spay-neuter and vaccination services and humanely manage community cat populations; and,
-providing a safe space (a cattery) for stray and community cats until they can be adopted or re-homed to a managed colony.

Adoption Policy

We ask potential adopters to complete our adoption application before we schedule a meet-and-greet. We review the application and check veterinary references and then, assuming the review is acceptable, we schedule a meet-and-greet at the foster parent's home or at our cattery facility. We then ask adopters to sign an adoption contract, too. We also hold special adoption events at local stores, although we do not typically do same-day adoptions. We are also in the process of becoming a PetSmart Charities Adoption Partner with the goal of being able to showcase our adoptable cats at PetSmart adoption events in New Bern, NC.
