Crocus Hill Rescue's mission is to find loving and caring forever homes for companion animals.

Adoption Policy

Potential adopters are required to complete an adoption application and furnish references with contact information, including the name and phone number of their current veterinarian. References are contacted and vetted. The adopter also undergoes a home visit where the inside residence is checked out for safety (inside and out) and every person living at the residence is engaged in an interview. It's important to understand the family dynamic and to really get an idea if everyone is on board and committed to having a new family animal member. Particular scrutiny is given to the care/condition of current resident animals and how they might interact with a new animal. Yards are inspected for security and safety with an eye toward keeping an animal from escaping (typically dogs). Potential adoptees are carefully vetted to help understand how much time, attention, and care an adoptive family is able to provide. Adoptive parties are asked about who will care for an animal when folks are out of town, etc.
