Our Mission
Monroe County Animal Control endeavors to protect people from the perils that result from their interaction with domestic animals. Furthermore we seek to protect animals from the neglect and abuse inflicted upon them in violation of current laws. We continue our efforts through education and enforcement working toward a community where the quality of life for man or animal is not negatively affected by the other.
Adoption Policy
If you do not own your home or if you live in a mobile home park, you must provide a written statement on a letter head stating you may own a pet. If you have any dogs they must currently be licensed in your county. If you own a dog and are looking to adopt another dog you must do a meet and greet to ensure they get along. We also run a background check on each adopter to make sure you do not have any animal cruelty charges.
Our adoption prices are $35 for an animal that is not spayed/neutered. You will sign a contract that requires you to get the animal spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption. After you show proof of spay/neuter you will receive a refund of $25 in the mail.
If the animal is already spayed/neutered the adoption fee is $10.
