Our Mission
Friends of Rabbits is a 501c3, nonprofit rabbit rescue group based in the Washington DC / Baltimore greater metropolitan area. We primarily take domestic house rabbits in from crowded and high-kill shelters in the region, in addition to stray domestic rabbits.
Our Goals are education, rescue and advocacy for domestic rabbits.
EDUCATE the public on the responsibilities involved with having a rabbit and the importance of spay/neutering
RESCUE rabbits from shelters with emergency funding, fostering, and adoption support
ADVOCATE by assuring a safe and healthy environment for every companion rabbit and supporting their caregiver.
Adoption Policy
A trusted FoR volunteer will contact you to schedule an interview to discuss any questions you may have and the set up of your future pet’s environment.
The adoption fee is $110 for a single rabbit and $160 for a bonded pair, which helps to offset the cost of a spay or neuter. Each additional bunny is $50. As of January 1, 2022, there is also a mandatory $50 RHD vaccine fee per rabbit.
Please note that we do not adopt out rabbits to be class pets or for breeding.
