Our Mission

The purpose of the Murray-Calloway County Animal Shelter is to provide immediate shelter and care for any and all homeless or abused animals within Calloway County, and either re-unite these animals with their owners, find them new homes, or shelter them until such time as they are redeemed, adopted or humanely dealt with.

Adoption Policy

Then email your application to animalshelter@callowaycountyky.gov Adoption Fee: $40.00 Cash or Check (this includes the microchip! It also covers vaccines, fecal, as well as any medical attention the animal required while in our care.) An $80.00 good-faith deposit will be collected at the time of adoption. (If paying this fee by check, the check will be cashed.) This added spay/neuter step will assist in stopping the tide of animals that end up in shelters. Once the spay/neuter has been completed, take or mail proof of surgery to the Humane Society of Calloway County, 607 Poplar St. (in the Weaks Center), Murray, KY 42071.
