Breckinridge County Animal Shelter

We are a small, rural Kentucky shelter with only 25 runs so adoptions and rescue are extremely important to us. The dogs and cats we take in are very well cared for under our supervision. Owner surrenders are immediately available for adoption. Any dog picked up as a stray must be held for the state mandated five day stray hold period before being released for adoption.    We also attempt to temperament test all dogs to ensure they are adoptable in regard to getting along with other dogs and even the shelter cat. Of course, dogs can behave differently, based on their environment and other factors. Our limited ability to spend long periods of time with each dog wont guarantee a dog doesnt or couldnt have "issues" going forward. View and apply for available Dogs and cats on the link below!
