Our Mission
The Wellington Humane Society believes in the value of humane attitudes towards all living creatures. Therefore, the Corporation is committed to being a no-kill organization that maintains a 90 percent save rate or higher. The Corporation will strive to reduce births of unwanted pets through spaying/neutering and working with the community to educate the public and find homes for animals in need. The Corporation will assist law enforcement in eliminating cruelty and neglect to animals, as well as uphold laws and ordinances pertaining to animal welfare.
Adoption Policy
Each interested adopter fills out an adoption application. It is free to fill out and available on our website. Our adoption team looks over the application and will ask the applicant any questions that arise. If the applicant rents, we will need to verify with the landlord that it is okay for the tenant to have a pet. If the applicant has a dog at home, they will need to schedule a time to do a meet and greet at our facility with a potential dog.
