Our Mission

Purple Power Animal Welfare Society (Purple Paws) was created in 2012.  We are a not for profit 501c3 charity serving the homeless animal community.  We are a state licensed animal rescue based in the greater Manhattan Kansas area;  we have a network of foster homes that care pets that we take into our program until they are placed in furever homes.  We assist and work with other animal welfare societies, in placing/transporting and placing homeless pets, as possible.  We also do trap/spay/neuter and release of feral cats as possible.

We believe in no kill philosophy;  there is not excuse for the euthanization of perfectly adoptable shelter pets.  We believe that the sterilizing of pets is the only long term answer to curbing the pet population problem.

Adoption Policy

Adopting from us is simple and not burdensome.  We always want to assist in getting the best pet/person match possible, a win/win situation!   Our process begins with an adoption application;  we contact references and vets.  The process only takes a day or two, as this is a priority to us.  Typically, our adoption fees are $220 for dogs and $100 for cats.
