Adoption Policy
Adoption fees include a non-refundable $12 fee for each dog or cat, plus a spay/neuter/rabies deposit that is refunded when you provide verification that the pet has been surgically sterilized and vaccinated for rabies at your vet. For dogs, the deposit is $80. The cat deposit is $55. Spay/neuter is NOT optional. It is required by state law for all dogs and cats adopted from an animal shelter in Kansas.
Out of town and out of state adoptions wonderful! But we do not ship pets to adopters that they (and we) have never met. All adopters are asked to come to Chanute to finalize the adoption and pick up their pet.
