Our Mission
Welcome to Loving Heart Animal Shelter! We are a no-kill, all-breed, 501(c) 3 non-profit animal rescue group located in Lafayette, Indiana.
Since 2009, Loving Heart Animal Shelter has provided a safe haven for dogs and cats in need. Our mission is to nurture them and restore them to health so they can be adopted into loving, permanent homes.
Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a homeless pet! All adoptions are by appointment only. To adopt from our shelter, you must be 21 years of age or older, complete our adoption application, and agree to a home-visit by one of our adoption counselors.
ADOPTION PROCESS
Step 1: Discuss
For the next 10-15 years, your new pet will rely on you
to provide him with nutritious food, grooming,
exercise/playtime, training, and medical attention. Are
you and your family prepared for the financial
commitment, time investment, and energy that
owning a pet requires?
Step 2: Decide
View our adoptable pets and decide which one (or
ones) might be a potential fit for your family. If you
have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us
by sending an email or messaging us over one of our
social media pages.
Step 3: Apply to Adopt

Step 4: Adopt
If your application is approved, you'll get to meet any
potential pets to ensure that you're a match! If all
goes well with meeting the pet you applied for, the
adoption will be completed. Congratulations on your
new furry friend!
ADOPTION FEES
- Puppies (o-12 months) $250
- Adult Dogs (1-6 years) $200
- Senior Dogs (7 years of age and up) $150
- Young cats (0-2 years) $100
- Adult cats (3-6 years) $75
- Senior Cats (7 years of age and up) $50
