Kentuckiana Cat Rescue, Inc.
Our Mission
Our mission at Kentuckiana Cat Rescue is to prevent the endless euthanasia of cats through promoting proper spay and neuter protocol and public education.
We have a passion to end the stigma surrounding FIV, and the euthanasia of cats diagnosed with FIP.
We also rehabilitate feral cats, in the hopes of placing them in indoor homes.
Adoption Policy
An application is required. Distance adopters must provide us with a virtual walkthrough of their home. Several conversations will happen between us and potential adopters to ensure a good fit. We prefer our adopters to come in so we can meet them but this is not required. All cats and animals in the home must have current vaccination records and must also be currently receiving preventives. Adapters must have a vet that they work with, that we can contact to verify current animal status.
Adopters must have an understanding that in taking another animal home, they can financially and emotionally care for the animal for the duration of its life.
Adopters must agree to never declaw a KCR cat.
Adopters must agree that in the event they are unable to keep the cat in their home due to life or behavioral issues, it must be returned to KCR.
Adoptors agree to never surrender their animal to a kill shelter.
Adopters agree to never harm, or place a KCR cat outside to fend for itself.
Adopters agree to always seek medical attention for an emergency or illness arising with their cat.
