Chicagoland Lab Rescue

Our Mission

Chicagoland Lab Rescue is a nonprofit organization dedicated  to saving, fostering and re-homing unwanted Labrador retrievers.  Comprised entirely of passionate volunteers, we are committed to rescuing and finding forever homes for Labs in need.

CLR houses all dogs in foster homes where they receive love, attention and any medical treatment necessary as they are matched to an appropriate adopter.  Prior to being placed with a foster home, the dogs are examined by a vet, spayed or neutered and brought up-to-date on shots.

Before CLR accepts any dogs into the rescue, they are evaluated for temperament and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future owners.

Adoption Policy

Thank you for thinking of rescuing with us!

The first step is to fill out the Adoption Application on this page.  As you browse the adoptable Labs, we will process your application and be in touch very soon.

The next step includes a visit to your home by one of our volunteers with a Lab.  This is very important to help ensure that all questions are answered and that we both agree that adopting a Lab from CLR is a good fit.

Assuming we both agree that a Lab from CLR is appropriate, our Placement Coordinator will help you meet a Lab that best fits your criteria.

All of our Labs are housed in Foster homes.  Potential adopters learn about the Lab from the Foster and eventually go to the Foster home to meet the Lab and complete the adoption right there if appropriate.

Our goal is for a successful
