Our Mission
Woodford County Animal Control (WCAC) is a proud part of the Woodford County Sheriff’s Office in Central Illinois. We take in dogs from across the county and provide a safe place to land while we work to get them where they need to be—back home, into a new home, or with a rescue partner.
Some dogs stay for a short time; others wait much longer. But while they are here, they are never just passing through—they are part of our family. They are seen, valued, and cared for every single day.
Adoptions are only one part of our mission. With over 150 intakes a year, the majority of our success comes from reuniting lost pets with their families or coordinating transfers to specialized rescue partners. Whether they are with us for a day or a year, they matter to us—and we will stand by them until their next chapter begins.
