At Georgia Rat Rescue, we believe every rat deserves a safe, loving, and enriching forever home—no matter their age, history, or how many times the world has failed them. Our mission is to provide compassionate, high-standard care to domestic rats in need across Georgia and the Southeast until they find their forever homes, while prioritizing the emotional wellbeing and individual personalities of every animal we take in. Each rat in our program is treated as an individual, matched thoughtfully with adopters ability, wants and interests. Because we are foster-based and volunteer-run, every open cage matters. We cannot take on new cases without finding safe outcomes for those already in our care. We ask all adopters to approach this process with empathy, responsibility, and a genuine desire to be a part of something deeply rewarding.
