Our mission at MACS Friends Animal Rescue is to provide quality care, while protecting and advocating for animals. We strive to promote kindness and compassion towards animals while educating our community in hopes to slow the overpopulation and the mistreatment of animals to save lives.
It is our belief that through education, involvement from our community, and promoting kindness towards animals that we can give the cats and dogs of MACS Friends Animal Rescue a second chance at life and find them the forever home they deserve.
MACS Friends Animal Rescue Inc reviews every application one by one in the order recieved. Our goal is to find the best forever home for each individual animal. This process can take up to a week depending on application volume. If your application is determined to be an intial match for the animal, we will contact you for the next steps in the process.
During the application process, we will conduct a veterinarian check. This is a vital part of your application, so please make sure you list the proper information. This includes the name used on your vet account, the names of all the pets you have, etc.
If you rent your home, you must provide your landlord contact information. We will verify your pet policy before continuing the application process. This is to ensure if you are chosen to adopt, that this will be a forever home for the pet.
Once the above checks are complete, we will contact you for a phone interview. Please be prepared for a 15-20 minute call. Please understand that we have volunteers that are transplants from other states who may call from a non Georgia phone number. If we do not reach you by phone, we will send an email and text to try to schedule your interview. We will try to contact you 3 times, if we do not make contact we will move on to the next applicant.
After the phone call interview, we will do a pre-approval home check. A home check of both the inside and outside of your home can be in person, virtual, or pictures.
Once the home check is approved, we will send you the contract and schedule a meet and greet with the animal. After a successful meet and greet, you will be offically approved. You will then need to pay your adoption fee and you can either take your new fur baby home or schedule a drop off or pick up the next day.
After adoption, MACS has a 7 day grace period for refunding your adoption fee. If the adoption turns out to not be the right fit, you can return the animal to MACS Friends Animal Rescue. You must contact MACS and give ample time for a foster to be found before returning the animal in accordance with the adoption contract you have signed.
Unfortunately, not every application will be the right fit for the animal. In these situations, you will receive an email letting you know of that decision. We will keep your application on file for 30 days. If you would like to apply for a different animal, you will need to send an email to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know.
