Cornerstone Hospice Pet Peace of Mind

Tavares, FL

Our Mission

Cornerstone Hospice was the first hospice in the state of Florida to bring Pet Peace of Mind to its patients and families. Banfield Charitable Trust created this national organization because they recognize the important bond between people and their furry companions. PPOM is NOT a rescue.

This volunteer-based program provides patients and families with:

Basic pet care
Dog walking
Food & supply donations
Bathing/grooming
Litter box care
Veterinary assistance
Transportation
Extra love and attention

The program also serves to educate patients, families, and the community about the importance of having a plan for animal companions should they be unable to care for them. In cases where animal companions need rehoming, the Pet Peace of Mind program will assist with this task by partnering with local rescues and no-kill shelters. Do YOU have a plan for your pet?

Adoption Policy

Cornerstone Hospice Pet Peace of Mind is a volunteer-based program that helps pets and families stay together while in hospice care. We encourage patients and families to have a plan for their pets should they be unable to care for them. When the occasion arises that someone has not made a plan, we will assist with rehoming their beloved pets. Though Cornerstone Hospice Pet Peace of Mind does not require an adoption fee, we greatly welcome a donation of any amount to cover veterinary costs for the pets in our program, as we rely on donations to continue caring for the animals. PPOM IS NOT A RESCUE, and we can only rehome animals that belong to our patients and families. Please help prevent animals from becoming homeless by having a written plan for your pets should you be unable to care for them.

**All adoptable animals through Pet Peace of Mind are up-to-date on vaccines, spayed/neutered, unless indicated otherwise, and must be
