Our Mission

Mission Statement: At Jolly Tails Animal Sanctuary, we are committed to rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs, offering them a safe haven where they can heal, thrive, and find their forever homes. Our mission is to provide compassionate care, raise awareness about animal welfare, and promote the bond between humans and animals through adoption, education, and community involvement. We believe every dog deserves a chance at a happy, healthy life, and we strive to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. Philosophical Views on Animal Placement: At Jolly Tails Animal Sanctuary, we believe that every dog deserves more than just a home – they deserve a family who understands, values, and respects their individual needs and personalities. Our philosophy on animal placement is rooted in the belief that adoption is a lifelong commitment, and the bond between human and animal should be built on trust, compassion, and mutual respect. We prioritize thoughtful, careful placements that ensure the best possible match between the dog and the adoptive family. This means considering factors such as the dog’s temperament, energy level, health needs, and compatibility with other pets or children. We are committed to ensuring that our dogs are placed in environments where they will thrive, and we work closely with each potential adopter to guide them through the process and ensure they fully understand the responsibilities involved. In addition, we believe in second chances and recognize that some dogs may require extra time or training before finding their perfect home. Our goal is not just to find homes for our dogs, but to create lasting, fulfilling relationships that will enrich the lives of both our dogs and their adopters. We also strive to educate future guardians in essential aspects of animal husbandry, dog behavior, and responsible pet ownership. By offering dog training sessions and behavior guidance, we aim to ensure that our adopters are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed for successful placement pairings. This commitment to education helps foster stronger relationships and increases the likelihood of long-term success in the dog’s new home.

Adoption Policy

Adoption Policy – Jolly Tails Animal Sanctuary At Jolly Tails Animal Sanctuary, we believe that adoption is a lifelong commitment, and we are dedicated to finding the best possible homes for our rescued animals. Our adoption policy is designed to ensure that every dog is placed with a family that can meet their needs and provide a safe, loving environment for their entire life. We are committed to responsible adoption practices and aim to educate adopters throughout the process. Adoption Criteria: Age Requirements: All applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Applicants under the age of 21 will be considered on a case-by-case basis with approval from a guardian or responsible adult. Home Environment: We require that all adopters have a stable living environment, whether that is a house, apartment, or other type of residence. Renters must provide written approval from their landlord stating that pets are allowed. All fences and gates (if applicable) must be secure and safe for the dog. Other Pets: We will consider applicants who have other pets, but each dog’s compatibility with other animals will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If adopting a dog into a household with other pets, we may request a meet-and-greet to ensure compatibility. Commitment to Care: Adopters must be committed to providing proper care, including food, shelter, regular veterinary care, exercise, and mental stimulation. All adopted dogs must be kept indoors as part of the family (exceptions can be made for outdoor dogs, but they must be in a secure environment). Adoption Process: Application: All potential adopters must complete an adoption application, providing information about their home, lifestyle, and experience with animals. Home Visit: In some cases, a home visit may be required to ensure that the living environment is suitable for the dog being adopted. Interview: We conduct an interview to better understand the adopter's expectations, lifestyl
