Our Mission
While many of our dogs go on to become Service Dogs and are paired with a Veteran in need, some dogs don’t quite meet the rigorous standards and are career-changed and ready to be the newest addition to your family. While some of them have received basic training, these dogs are not equipped to become ADA-compliant Service Dogs. You are not required to be a Veteran to adopt a Career Changed dog from K9s For Warriors.
Adoption Policy
We require all potential adopters to fill out and submit an adoption application, http://bit.ly/K9FWAdoptApp. Once you find a dog you are interested in, we will schedule a meet and greet on our campus where you will get to meet the dog(s) of your choice. We require all dogs and members of the household to accompany you during the meet and greet. If it is a perfect match, an adoption agreement will be signed, transition food will be provided along with medical records, and you will be able to take your new addition home!
