Our Mission

We are a breed specific, foster home based rescue, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of Dachshunds and Dachshund mixes. We are a small rescue operating only within the state of Florida. We have partnered with several shelters in various counties in Florida and we also take in owner surrenders and strays found by private individuals. Florida adoptions only please. Adoption Policy

Interested parties are asked to email skywaydachshund@gmail.com. Your request will be handled by our Adoption Coordinator who will email an Adoption Application and other information concerning our adoption process to you. When the application has been returned it will be reviewed and you will be contacted. An inhome visit is arranged whereby the dog will be taken to your home to stay for a two week visit. At this time an Adoption Contract will be filled out and signed by a Member of the organaization and yourself and the adoption fee paid, all of which is held by our Treasurer until either the dog's adoption becaomes final and the fee deposited or the dog is returned to the rescue in the event the dog turns out not to be a good fit. If the latter turns out to be the case, your contract becomes null and void and your adoption fee returned.
