The Upper Keys Animal Shelter was privatized in 1998 for the purpose of reducing the number of homeless animals in the community through a free spay/neuter program for community owned pets.
We are an open admission shelter, provide humane care for all animals entering the shelter, and perform Animal Services for our area through education and enforcement.
Adoption Policy
Once a potential adopter has chosen a pet and has been interviewed and approved, the pet is spayed/neutered before going into the new home.
The adoption cost is a Monroe County fee of $10.00.
Monroe County license fee is $10.00
