Our Mission

Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing abandoned and abused cats and dogs and finding them new homes. APR's shelter houses 150 cats and 35 dogs that all receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love. APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
