Suncoast Basset Rescue Inc.

Suncoast Basset Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing basset hounds from abusive, abandoned, and unwanted situations. Working across Florida, we give bassets a second chance to live as they were intended - as someone’s best friend. Over the past three decades, SBR has rescued over 5,200 basset hounds. Our dogs come from municipal shelters, pounds, humane societies, and owner surrenders. They arrive with a wide range of stories: some are strays whose families cannot be found; others are relinquished due to changing lifestyles, financial hardship, allergies, health challenges, or simple apathy. We provide life-changing medical care and place these dogs in new homes where they can enjoy the love and security they deserve.
