Founded in 1957, Delaware Humane Association (DHA) is Delaware’s premiere nonprofit no kill animal care and adoption center, serving a four state area. We are committed to providing for the needs of homeless and owned dogs and cats in our community.
Each year, hundreds of animals come to DHA in search of a warm bed, good meal, and most importantly, a new home. Our dedicated staff and volunteers work hard to ensure that each animal receives the best care possible during his/her stay at our adoption shelter.
Adoption Policy
As Delaware's premier animal care and adoption center, we specialize in helping people find the right pet for their family. If you are looking to add a new family member, please stop by and visit the many cats and dogs available for adoption. Our staff and volunteers will be glad to assist you! DHA is located on the Christina River in downtown Wilmington, Delaware. Out of state adopters are welcome!
