Our Mission
Mile High Dachshunds Rescue was established as a Colorado nonprofit corporation and was designated by IRS as a 501(c)(3) charity in early 2015. Mile High Dachshunds Rescue is committed to protecting and improving the lives of abandoned, abused, rescued, and surrendered Dachshunds and is supported entirely by donations, grants, and fundraisers.
Adoption Policy
Thank you for deciding to adopt - not shop. At MHDR, our primary goal is finding the best home for each of our rescued Dachshunds. To do that, our process starts off with an adoption application. The application asks questions that will help us help you find the best fit for your family and lifestyle. When you complete and return the application, we will make calls to your personal references and to the veterinarian who sees your companion pets. After that, one of our volunteers will call you to schedule an appointment for an in-person home visit. This visit is simply to assure that your residence will provide a safe, secure forever home for your new family member.
