Routt County Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1985 that is dedicated to animal welfare, the prevention of cruelty to animals, providing humane education, promoting spaying and neutering, and encouraging respect for the dignity and worth of all animals.
Potential adopters must be at least 18 years old. If you’re interested in adopting an animal, the first step is to complete an adoption application and visit with the animal.
If you rent, we highly recommend getting landlord approval prior to visiting with the animal.
Our staff meets with you and takes into account the animal’s disposition, needs and behavior and then tries to match the pet best suited to your needs and lifestyle. Adoptions are done on the same day so your furry friend is all ready to go!
