Stockton Animal Shelter and the Animal Protection League
Our Mission
The Stockton Animal Shelter is the only municipal shelter for the City of Stockton and the majority of San Joaquin County. The Shelter intakes between 11,000 and 12,000 animals per year. Â
The Shelter is continuing to forge relationships with many rescue groups both locally and afar to increase positive outcomes for the homeless and abandoned animals of the City of Stockton and San Joaquin County. Â
The Animal Protection League is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and helps the Shelter with adoptions at off-site events. Â In addition, they support the Shelter by fundraising to purchase the Shelter items that are needed to improve the outcomes of homeless and abandoned animals in the City of Stockton and San Joaquin County. Â
All adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip and license within the City of Stockton or San Joaquin County. All animals adopted from our facility are required to be spayed or neutered before leaving.
