Our Mission
We are a small veteran-run dog rescue based in San Diego, California. Our goal is to change the rescue world. We adopt our dogs to any loving and qualified homes, but we also provide ESAs for military veterans. With The Heroic Tail’s model, we are not only able to rescue dogs from high-kill shelters who happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, but we are also able to help the dogs deemed “unadoptable” and give them a better chance at a happy and healthy life!
Adoption Policy
First submit an adoption application on our website. We will review your application and contact you as soon as possible. After speaking with you over the phone and approving your application a meet and greet with the dog will be done at a park. Home check will be done as well either prior or after meet with dog. If you decide to adopt we will be doing an adoption contract and adoption fee will be charged. If the dog you are adopting is not a puppy then you will be required to do at least one training session with our trainer at no additional cost.
