Our Mission

Cosumnes River College Veterinary Technology Program trains Veterinary Technicians. Animals in the program are rescued from other shelters and go through a lengthy process to get them vaccinated, neutered and provided some obedience training. Every animal is adopted to new homes at the end of April each year.

Adoption Policy

The Cosumnes River College Veterinary Technology Program holds an adoption event once a year at the end of April. During that time we will have dogs and cats available for adoption. There is a preview period and then deposits are taken to reserve the animal for you. Animals will go home usually the following Friday evening, but no later than 2 weeks from the adoption date. If you have a dog and are looking for a new friend for your dog, please bring your dog with you so that they may meet on "neutral ground". Appointments can be made in advance of the adoption date by contacting our main number, however animals cannot be reserved in advance of the adoption date.
