Mending Fences is an all volunteer pet rescue organization committed to helping the pet population. Our mission is to reduce the suffering of the many homeless family pets in our community, through love, rescue, rehabilitation, veterinary care, education and prevention (spay and neuter) to the extent our resources and finances allow.
Mending Fences is committed to the well-being of the animals in our care, our volunteers and the community. We will strive to work with the community, local shelters, humane organizations, state and local government, enforcement agencies, veterinary offices, and other rescue organizations in order to foster a positive and wholesome rescue environment.
Mending Fences’ adoption process is easy and begins with you completing an adoption application. The application asks general questions related to pet ownership in order for us to get to know you and your family better. We then review the application and if approved we will arrange for you and your family to meet the pet you have expressed interest in. We highly recommend bringing your existing furry family members to the first meeting as it is a great opportunity to make sure everyone will get a long.
Please note, most of our pets will require a home visit depending on certain circumstances and sometimes we work with other rescue partners in order to get this requirement fulfilled out of our local area. It is our policy all dogs adoptions require a home visit and we will work with you to arrange a suitable time and day for the home visit to take place.
Home visits are done in order to make sure your yard is secure and or to assist you with puppy proofing if you
