Adoption Policy

You do NOT have to be a Resident of Antioch to adopt from Antioch Animal Services, we welcome non-resident adopters.
We request that all members of the household be present for a meet and greet with any pet you are considering to adopt. If you are adopting a dog and have other dogs in the household, we recommend you bring them in as well, to ensure compatability.
All adopters must present Government Issued Identification at time of adoption.
Cat Compatibility Testing is available on request. 

ADOPTION FEES:

Cats: $76.00 adoption fee – This fee includes having the cat surgically altered at the animal shelter, the FVRCP vaccination fee, Rabies vaccination fee (if the cat is over 4 months old), and the microchip fee. There will be an additional charge at the Veterinarian for the cost of the spay/neuter if it is necessary to send the animal outside the shelter for the surgery. (Office staff will go over these fees with you.)

Dogs: $96.00 adoption fee – This fee includes having the dog surgically altered at the animal shelter, the DHPP vaccination fee, the Bordetella vaccination fee, the Rabies vaccination fee (if the dog is over 4 months old), and the microchip fee. There will be an additional charge at the Veterinarian for the cost of the spay/neuter if it is necessary to send the animal outside the shelter for the surgery. Additionally, if the adopter is a City of Antioch resident, they will also be required to purchase a 1-year dog license for $20.00 (Office staff will go over these fees with you.)

Rabbits: $16.00 adoption fee.

Hamsters, other small animals: $7.00 adoption fee.
