North Little Rock Animal Shelter

The mission of NLR Animal Shelter is to provide consistent and effective animal control services to the residents of North Little Rock. Our department will operate in a manner that focuses on public safety and active enforcement of state and local laws to assist with the reduction of stray animals through adoption and rescue. We will not turn away stray or owned animals from within our jurisdiction, even if the unfortunate circumstance arises having to involve humane euthanasia. Turning away animals only compounds the pet overpopulation issue. We will be transparent regarding our policies, procedures and the use of public funds. We also have a voucher program available at the shelter for Pulaski County Residents. These vouchers will cover the cost of sterilizing your animal only (shots and meds are an additional charge applied at the veterinarian). In order to purchase a voucher please come to the shelter and make an appointment with one of the veterinarians on our voucher list. If that appointment is within 30 days we will sell you a voucher for $50. If the appointment is over 30 days away you will have to come back to the shelter at a later date as the vouchers expire after 30 days of being issued.
