The mission of the City of Mobile Animal Services is to balance the health, safety, and welfare needs of the people and animals in our City. Through our mission we will educate the public about responsible companion animal ownership, aggressively investigate animal cruelty cases, provide compassion and humane care for unwanted, stray, abused and abandoned animals in our City, administer dog licenses, give adoptable animals a second chance at a forever home, and humanely euthanize animals when necessary and appropriate.

Our facility is open for drop-in adoptions Monday through Friday from 12-4pm. Appointments for other times can be made by emailing

Adoption Policy

Our adoption fees are $60 for dogs and $30 for cats, which includes spay/neuter and age appropriate vaccines. We are located at 855 Owens Street (which is off Virginia Street). Our facility is open for drop-in adoptions Monday through Friday from 12-4pm, and appointments can be made via for other times.

Animal License:
All dogs residing within the city limits of Mobile over three months of age are required to be licensed. Proof of current rabies inoculation is required for all license purchases.

The following fees apply to the license:
Unspayed/Unneutered dogs $15.00
Spayed/Neutered dogs $3.00

Senior Citizens (65 or older)
(Proof of age is required)
Unspayed/Unneutered dogs $3.00
Spayed/Neutered dogs $1.50
