Our Mission
North Baldwin Animal Shelter protects and cares for homeless pets in our community by providing compassionate sheltering, responsible medical care, and thoughtful, relationship‑based adoption services. We work to reduce pet homelessness through ethical practices, community support, and partnerships that give every animal the best possible chance at a healthy, loving future.
Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is designed to be simple, supportive, and focused on safe, successful matches. All available pets are posted on our Facebook page with photos and personality notes. Interested adopters contact the shelter directly, and staff complete a brief phone‑based screening to learn about the adopter’s home, experience, and expectations. We focus on behavior and lifestyle compatibility rather than breed labels or rigid requirements.
Once approved, adopters meet the pet in person, receive counseling on care and transition, and complete the adoption paperwork. All pets leave sterilized (when medically appropriate), vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on parasite prevention.
