We believe that the best home for most pets is the one they already have.
Adoption Policy
When a pet can't be reclaimed, we have the owner, if living, sign a surrender form. Our foster agreement provides for us to take ownership of the pet if the owner dies.
We first offer the foster the option to adopt. This is very often taken up. If it is, we proceed to contract as they have already been screened and we have usually been working with them for some time.
Otherwise, we screen potential adopters as we would fosters, then introduce the pet, the foster, and the potential adopter(s).
If all goes well at that stage, we discuss transition, and proceed to contract.
